History of the Company
As founders of two leading recruiting companies here in Western Canada, we’ve spent almost two decades helping companies find and hire high performing IT teams. Teamit focus’s on the top 20% of the candidate base in specific geographic areas and we’ve always believed that the referral network is the most efficient and reliable way to find and hire talent.
The biggest challenge is that most referral networks are small and are fine for a few hires here and there, but are unable to sustain companies that are scaling rapidly. We always felt there must be a better way to harness the power of the referral network and leverage it at Scale. That was the inspiration behind Teamit.

Alistair Shepherd Cross
The excitement in Alistair’s voice when talking about Teamit is palpable. One would think after 20 years the shine would fade, but Alistair is constantly conceiving innovative solutions and guiding the company to greater heights. In fact, he has purposely taken the rocky road many times in his life. Alistair came to Canada from England looking to challenge himself and get out of his comfort zone. With a Masters degree in silviculture, Alistair made the obvious leap from lumberjack to recruiting in 1998, and has never looked back. Alistair now uses every spare minute to explore the outdoors with his family by hiking and fly fishing, and truly believes a balanced life makes for better employees. Immensely proud of the team that makes Teamit, Alistair is one of the main forces behind the success and impeccable track record they have brought to the industry
Mini is a bit of a dichotomy. At first glance she is genuinely caring and kind, but when it comes to her work she is driven, competitive, and will not stop until she finds the perfect placement for her clients. She fondly describes her upbringing on a farm outside of Calgary, but now lives in the hub of the city with quick access to all the urban amenities. Mini received a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems and Marketing, and utilizes her love of technology and computer science when seeking the perfect hire. She has the unique ability to see potential in someone that no one has recognized before. Mini has infused her passion for traveling and helping others into her intelligent and caring two children. She is active in a dinner club, loves to watch Roger Federer play tennis, and is dedicated to winning her family’s annual curry cooking competition.
Rich’s passion for recruitment comes from his interest in business and people. People are what drive businesses forward, and matching talented and motivated people to his clients is what he does best. Rich has recruited in Shanghai and London and is proud to call Calgary home. Living and working abroad was an awesome adventure and he would recommend it to anyone. Rich grew in Fort Frances, Ontario and loves being outdoors. He received an Economics degree from the University of Manitoba before traveling abroad. If you are looking for Rich, check the squash court, he is usually there and always up for a game

Candace’s passion for connecting people and building stronger teams and communities has been her “why” for over 20 years. As a Chartered Human Resources Professional, with a social work, mental health and fintech background, she has a large and varied toolbox to draw on to serve clients and to support the pursuit of healthy workplaces and great candidate experiences. She is values-driven and a consummate professional unless you’re with her during an NBA playoff game. She lives in Kelowna, BC with her husband, son, motorbikes and two rescue dogs, Wylie and Lucy.
