Teamit Inc. Privacy Policy

Teamit Inc. (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates https://www.teamit.com (the “Site”). The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store and distribute information about our users, clients, contractors, candidates and our employees through the Site and our Services.   

For the services we provide, we collect information that is provided by the above and that is relevant and specific to the recruiting process of filling jobs, searching for jobs and applying for jobs. 

For our Site, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and we’ll only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you requested from us. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Two types of information may be collected through the Site: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information.

Personal Information: Personal Information is personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, company name, etc. At the time of collection, we will clearly identify the information being collected and the purposes for which it will be used. We may collect Personal Information in respect of the Site through contact forms, communications with you, content downloads, webinar registrations, etc.

Non-Personal InformationLike many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends or stored in a cookie when you choose to visit our Site (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, geographical location, the time spent on those pages and other data.

In addition, we use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor, measure, and analyze the behaviours and usage patterns of visitors to our Site. We use this type of information in order to increase our Site’s functionality and for marketing purposes. These third-party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.

Third-party services: We use the third-party services, Google Analytics, Google Analytics Advertising Features, LinkedIn and Facebook, to collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site. This data includes Log Data as mentioned above but also demographics, interests, and other information for marketing and advertising purposes. 

Marketing Communications: If you opt-in to receive marketing communications from us, we will use your Personal Information to keep you updated on our products and services. You may opt out at any time from receiving any of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link in the communications we send.

Our Privacy Policy has been developed to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and in accordance with the Provincial Act (PIPA). The legislation sets out the rules for the collection use and disclosure of personal information in the course of commercial activities as defined in the act.   

Our Privacy Policy is based on the act’s principles as follows:   

  1. Accountability: organizations are accountable for the personal information they collect, use, retain and disclose in the course of their commercial activities, including, but not limited to, the appointment of a Chief Privacy Officer;  
  1. Identifying Purposes: organizations are to explain the purposes for which the information is being used at the time of collection and can only be used for those purposes;  
  1. Consent: organizations must obtain an Individual’s express or implied consent when they collect, use, or disclose the individual’s personal information;  
  1. Limiting Collection: the collection of personal information must be limited to only the amount and type that is reasonably necessary for the identified purposes;  
  1. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention: personal information must be used for only the identified purposes, and must not be disclosed to third parties unless the Individual consents to the alternative use or disclosure;  
  1. Accuracy: organizations are required to keep personal information in active files accurate and up-to-date;  
  1. Safeguards: organizations are to use physical, organizational, and technological safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure.  
  1. Openness: organizations must inform their clients and train their employees about their privacy policies and procedures;  
  1. Individual Access: an individual has a right to access personal information held by an organization and to challenge its accuracy if need be; and  
  1. Provide Recourse: organizations are to inform clients and employees of how to bring a request for access, or complaint, to the Chief Privacy Officer, and respond promptly to a request or complaint by the individual  

We take reasonable security measures to protect personal information against unlawful or unauthorized access, loss or damage, and shall be sufficiently accurate, complete and up-to-date to minimize the possibility that inappropriate information may be used to make a decision about the individual customer or employee. We do not retain personal information longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected unless required by law.   

Generally, we will seek consent for the use or disclosure of the personal information at the time of collection. In addition, employees and consultants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement binding them to maintain the confidentiality of all personal and client information to which they have access.  

Physical Safeguards: Active files are stored in locked filing cabinets when not in use. Access to work areas where active files may be in use is restricted to we employees only and authorized third parties.  

All inactive files or personal information no longer required are shredded prior to disposal to prevent inadvertent disclosure to unauthorized persons.
